Visit us in Rotterdam

Thank you Creative Mornings Rotterdam for giving us a platform to share our latest Two Doors Down song. It wasn’t on the theme of the month (REVERIE), but the city Rotterdam featured prominently in the talk and in Community Minutes.

Visit us in Rotterdam

Rotterdam, O Rotterdam …. Ooo …

Chorus 1
Visit us in Rotterdam
Discover its many charms
Feel the beat of this ‘can-do’ city,
the beat of a working heart
the beat of a working heart

Verse 1
The river Maas, Erasmus Bridge
The tall buildings and the cruise ships
The old church, the Markthal,
the cube houses and the seagulls
Delfshaven, Museumpark
Hotel New York and the Euromast

Chorus 2
Visit us in Rotterdam,
a city of flesh and bone
Visit me and the other locals
in this city that I call home
The city that I call home

Verse 2
We’ll walk around my neighbourhood,
have breakfast at Zus en Kees
On Sunday we can go to church
and picnic at the lake
So much to take in, so much to do
Rotterdam and I, we welcome you

Chorus 3
Visit us in Rotterdam,
a city of flesh and bone
Visit us and the other locals
in this city that we call home
The city that we call home

Rotterdam, O Rotterdam …. Ooo …

On the Fringes of the Fringe

Margriet and I will be in Edinburgh in August, hosted by a good friend of mine. We’re taking along our instruments, so we can do some busking, on the fringes of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

We did consider the fringe festival busking opportunities, but soon realised our music would be drowned out by all the hustle and bustle on the Royal Mile. Instead we hope to find a listening audience in quieter parts of town, and maybe sell some CDs.

We’ll also be sampling some of what the fringe festival has to offer, and map out a strategy for participating in the festival next year, possibly on a shared bill with some singer-songwriter friends.

At the Taxi Road Rally 2015 in LA

This is us at the head of the queue for the open mic at the Taxi Road Rally in Los Angeles on Saturday, 7 November 2015. Later that evening Jack performed a ukulele solo, Al a guitar solo with effects, Laura a song with piano accompaniment, and Margriet and I sang “This is for you”, with ukulele, recorder and vocals.

Headed for the Taxi Road Rally 2014

Margriet and I attended the “Taxi Road Rally” in 2011 and 2012, and decided it was time to make the effort (and investment) and attend this amazing event again: 6-9 November 2014 in Los Angeles.

It’s one of the many ways Taxi invests in their members, to give us the connections and tools and incentive to be a better songwriter, singer, musician, recording artist, recording engineer, mixer and masterer … etc.

I can’t wait.

Two Doors Down debut EP release in Dordrecht, 11 April 2014

Two Doors Down
http://www.twodoorsdownband.com

Two Doors Down presenteert hun debuut EP in De Vreemde Eend, Dordrecht.

Op vrijdag 11 april zal Two Doors Down de EP “Life’s Like That” presenteren in De Vreemde Eend te Dordrecht.

De zelf geproduceerde EP “Life’s Like That” bevat 5 nummers van de “band” (duo) rondom singer-songwriter, Irene Bom.

Two Doors Down staat op 11 april om 20.00 in De Vreemde Eend, Bagijnhof 27, 3311 KE Dordrecht (tel: 078-6316678)
