Weather well

by Irene Bom

My eyes are gritty, I can’t take the sun,
not right now
All that heat has made me come undone
No use crying foul.
When you’re not there I forget to take care
Silly me, I need backup, obviously

How the weather changes us time will tell
But together we should fare better
maybe even weather well.

My body’s aching, while out on the ice
I slipped and fell
I braved the elements, I’m paying the price
I hurt like hell.
Hey, what would I do without you?
You’re the best, and you’re right, I should rest.

I don’t mind the weather
Provided we’re together
